On 25th September 2025, IBCM welcomed Prof. Gerhard Speckbacher for a full-day research workshop, engaging the faculty in topics central to international research and teaching excellence.

Workshop I: Doing Research in an International Environment
Participants explored:

• Identifying impactful research topics

• Selecting appropriate journals for publication

• Developing a research agenda as a researcher

• Building and leading successful research teams

• The importance of international exchange in research
  
  

Prof. Speckbacher presented two research projects, providing an insider view on the research process:

1. A completed project on leadership and team creativity (survey-based research)

2. An ongoing project on using financial forecasts to evaluate innovative product ideas (experimental research)
   
   

Workshop II: Research-based Teaching with Practice Relevance
The afternoon focused on integrating research into teaching:

• Teaching entrepreneurship as shared value creation

• Fostering academic thinking and attitudes

• Engaging students through classroom experiments and project seminars

• Bridging research, teaching, and practical experience
  
  

The workshop offered invaluable guidance for young and senior researchers alike, emphasizing both academic excellence and practical application in teaching.
