FINAL CONFERENCE, DISSEMINATION & CLOSING EVENT
Bridging the Digital Humanities & Educational Media Divide in the West Balkans
The Erasmus+ HomoDigitalis Conference took place from September 18 to 20, 2025, at the LOGOS University College in Tirana, where higher education institutions from the Western Balkans and Europe gathered to address digital humanities and digital transformation in higher education. Researchers and experts presented their publications in designated sessions. LOGOS University College project leaders facilitated panel discussions with panelists to explore the institutional and regional implications of the Erasmus+ HomoDigitalis project. Presentations were made by the project's researchers, lecturers, and staff, who presented their findings, challenges, evidence, and results of their work throughout the implementation of the Erasmus+ HomoDigitalis project.
The IBCM Vice Rector for Teaching, Quality, Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Bujar Gallopeni and Lecturer Damir Gashi represented the Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM). Prof. Gallopeni served as a member of the Scientific Committee, and through his participation in the committee, he emphasised IBCM’s contribution towards supporting and guiding regional conferences and dialogue on digital competencies. Prof. Gallopeni also participated, as an official opponent, in one of the academic sessions, specifically on the topic of “Digital Competencies in Social Sciences - A Pilot Study. From Design to Practice: Teaching Approaches in the HOMO DIGITALIS Project” by the LOGOS University. Prof. Gallopeni held a critical discussion with the authors of the publication, which further developed a constructive discussion among the presenters and participants engaged.
Lecturer Damir Gashi participated in the announced conference tracks that focus on the project results and the Quality Assurance part of the project, presenting examples of the Consortium's achievement in Work Package 5 and the performance results received to date, tasks remaining and the future of the Quality Assurance side of the Erasmus+ HomoDigitalis project. Both IBCM staff members who attended the conference, Prof. Gallopeni and lecturer Gashi, reaffirmed the regional collaboration and capacity building goals throughout the Erasmus+ goals to advance digital competencies and strengthen partnerships across regions.
