As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Public International Business College Mitrovica (IBCM) hosted a deeply moving and inspiring session led by Blina Bakalli, also a member of the IBCM Steering Council. The event took place on Friday, 31 October 2025, at the IBCM Riverside Campus, and brought together students, staff, and guests to reflect on the importance of health, resilience, and community.
During the session, Blina shared her personal journey of overcoming breast cancer, offering an honest and emotional insight into the challenges and triumphs she experienced from diagnosis to recovery. Her story was not only one of survival, but also one of hope, strength, and perseverance.
She spoke passionately about the importance of early detection, encouraging everyone to take proactive steps for their health. Beyond the physical aspects of her experience, Blina also emphasized the crucial role of mental health during such life-changing circumstances, highlighting how emotional well-being, support systems, and community care are fundamental to healing and resilience.
The session was highly interactive, with participants engaging in an open and heartfelt discussion. Many asked questions, shared reflections, and expressed gratitude for Blina’s courage in speaking so openly about her journey. It was a reminder that awareness is not just about information, it’s about empathy, connection, and collective support.
IBCM is proud to have hosted this event and to stand alongside all those raising awareness for breast cancer. We remain committed to fostering a supportive environment where important conversations about health, mental well-being, and personal growth can take place.
We thank Blina Bakalli for her powerful message and for reminding us all that, with courage and community, there is always hope.
