Working with smile: Internship success for Bojana Ristanovic

Environment and Agricultural Management student Bojana recently completed her mandatory #internship at JKP Zvecan. She had a great experience, learning that one of the most important things in the workplace is a positive attitude! We chatted to her and her supervisor to find out more.

What has been the most enjoyable aspect of your internship?

I have enjoyed doing collective work, and the good, positive and hardworking atmosphere here.

What is the biggest challenge you have faced (and how did you overcome it)?

Maybe at the beginning, when I was getting to know all the employees, and having to memorize their names, but after one day it was not a problem. I quickly met them all and adapted.

How have your studies at IBCM helped you during the internship?

The English skills I have built at IBCM were helpful, as I was able to use them when there was a need, so I translated texts from English into Serbian and vice versa. Also, learning how to write presentations, projects, and reports at IBCM has enabled me to participate in a range of projects when necessary.

What advice would you give to other students doing internships?

Generally, interns should be positive, smiling, open and willing for cooperation and hard-working.

And her supervisor, Dejan Vasic, Director of JKP Zvecan, was full of praise for Bojana.

What’s been the best part about working with this student?

We had a really wonderful cooperation from start to finish internship. Bojana is very hardworking and willing to accept any responsibility.

Is there anything different about IBCM interns?

IBCM students have a really different approach. Their interest to accept a large amount of work is great, and they do everything with a positive attitude.

What advice would you give to students wishing to make the most of their internship?

I would advise them to meet with all employees as soon as possible, to accept all obligations with a smile, and create a good working atmosphere.
