At IBCM our approach is student-centered, where our aim is to build students into professionals with the skills to make a difference in their workplace and communities.
Our motto, From Theory to Practice, is infused in to all of our degree programmes. Using professional best practice as introduced through our Danish partners, our study programmes are locally adapted and use a problem-based model that ensure maximum learning.
There are 4 stages in the IBCM learning model:
Conceptualization (in-class learning): Theoretical knowledge is transferred to students by reading or listening. Theoretical knowledge could be definitions, concepts, theories, models, rules, descriptions, etc. Conceptualization at IBCM happens through:
Experimentation and simulation learning: Students work with real life problems in a controlled environment without communicating with the outside world. Experimentation at IBCM happens through:
Experience (in-field learning): Students work with theoretical knowledge in a real world environment. Experience at IBCM happens through:
Reflection (competence gaining): Students take in consideration all the learning achieved through conceptualization, experimentation and experience, finding the connections to promote a more complex understanding. At this stage, students can independently can solve real world problems and understand and discuss why specific tools are relevant. Reflection at IBCM happens through:
