Master Chef 2017 – under Global Entrepreneurship Week 2017, we at IBCM were excited to host the ‘Mitrovica Master Chef Cooking Up a Business’ for the third year in a row (see here Master Chef 2016, Master Chef 2015).
This event is an experiential learning activity through a live entrepreneurial cooking competition. The students, in teams of four, on a strict 1 hour limit and limited resources have to prepare and present their food/business to a panel of judges. The teams competed for points in organisational, presentation and creative skill; team management, and of course the final product. In a tough competitive environment, the teams managed to serve great dishes. The judges gave close scores, but it was Team of Valton, Irma, Haris, Diellza whom served an excellent three course meal – scoring 9 out of 10 in a 4 category evaluation.
With practical learning experience being central to IBCM’s learning model, the Master Chef cooking competition is designed to encourage an entrepreneurial mind-set through hands-on participation. In an environment of limited resources, the students were able to practice teamwork, collaboration, planning and improvisation to produce a product of value to customers. A special thanks to: Restaurant “URA” for providing their professional experience, judging and advising to this event. We hope that this event has inspired both participants and the audience to pursue their business dreams!
This is the third year since IBCM became part of the Global Entrepreneurship Week Kosovo, hosted by Innovation Center Kosovo (ICK) – aiming to promote entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial mindset. This GEW was celebrated from 13th to 17th November by all the partners of the GEW Kosovo network. A list with all the events can be found here. Through Mitrovica Master Chef 2017, IBCM tried to promote and encourage the entrepreneurial mindset in a different, fun and creative way.
