Field Trip: Public Administration students visit the Anti-Corruption Agency

On Friday 21st April 2017, IBCM Public Administration students visited the offices of the Anti-Corruption Agency in Prishtina.

Field trips such as these are a crucial part of studies at IBCM. Visiting practicing offices and meeting staff helps students to understand how the theoretical concepts they learn in the classroom are used in the real world of work.

Heads of Departments Mr. Blerim Kelmendi and Mr. Afrim Atashi informed the students about the mission, mandate, role and responsibilities of the Anti-Corruption Agency; the practices and procedures in preventing and combating corruption; and the mechanisms of co-operation with other organizations and institutions. They also discussed the achievements and challenges faced by the institution in performing its duties within the existing legal framework.

During the questioning session for the leaders of the Agency, IBCM had questions about various topics related to corruption: cooperation with other institutions, investigative procedures, treatment and protection of informants and witnesses, as well as the Agency’s human and financial resources and resources to effectively deal with suspected corruption cases.

IBCM would like to thank the ACA for taking the time to meet and talk with our students.
