Field Trip: First Semester students visit Caritas Kosova

Field trips are an important aspect of IBCM student life,  allowing our students to see first hand the practical application of classroom taught theory. Last week, a group of First Semester students visited the Caritas Kosova office in Mitrovica.

Caritas Kosovo is non-governmental organisation which develops programs and projects aimed at improving the quality of life for people in need and defending human rights of marginalized populations, as well as improving relations between the different communities represented in Mitrovica.

The students were particularly interested in the organisational structure of the charity, as well as its communication model and strategy implementation. The regional Director, Mr. Boban Mirkovic, and his colleague Mr. Bujar Sahatçiu were both more than happy to answer all their questions, and also talked about problem-orientated project work and its principal rules, teamwork and the necessity of leadership.

Student Aleksandra Lazarevic said of the trip “I was very happy and pleased with the field trip. Mr. Boban Mirkovic was an amazing man, with so much experience. It was a  pleasure to talk to him and to learn the concept of the charity’s work. It really helped me to recognise topics we have been talking about during our classes. To go on these field trips really highlights the college’s motto “From Theory to Practice“, and I would like to thank my professor for organising such an interesting and insightful trip.”
