Career Day included both a career fair with exhibitors and career guidance and counseling for job-hungry students. More than 25 companies and organisations were represented as exhibitors for the career fair between the two campuses, allowing students to create contacts and explore job opportunities with local, international, and state employers. Career guidance and counseling session was provided for students just before the career fair, led by Blagica Rizoska, who prepared students on how to approach companies with quick personal “elevator speeches”. This allowed students to distinguish themselves, their skills and abilities to potential employees.

In parallel, local entrepreneurs were also trained in IBCM’s Business Club. In Business Club north, the training topic was “Using Social Media to Promote Sales” led by IBCM Lecturer Violeta Nikolova and supported by Milena Stolic. Both gave practical tips and tricks in social media marketing, emphasizing its importance in developing social networks, sharing information and ideas, and broadcasting to targeted audiences.

InBusiness Club south, the main topic was “Budgeting and Basics of Accounting for Micro Enterprises led by Mr. Mithat Sejdiu. The training focused on the importance of planning budgets, especially as it pertains to the Kosovo Tax Authority (KTA). The KTA needs to know the projected income for the year in order to determine the profit tax for the business. Participants were thus trained on how to prepare a very basic budget plan, including tracking expenses on a weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis.

The event was attended by more than 60 IBCM students and IBCM lecturers. IBCM is proud to be connected with these high profile companies and organisations, which help deliver on our mission to enable youth to build professional careers and improve economic development in the region.
